升中派位結果將於今日（11日）揭曉，不滿結果的家長可到心儀中學「叩門」，不過今年起各校只能使用每班一個「留班位」收叩門學生，由於大部分名校中只有4班，即叩門位將較往年的8個減半至4個。也會有不少家長會到許多學校叩門，亦有家長即使子女派了第二志願，也希望到第一志願的學校叩門。不少家長可能會擔心叩門位減少，競爭力會比往年更大，叩門成功率也因此下降，不過資優教育中心創辦人Ms Claudia Chu則認為若做好以下幾件事，仍有機會錄取。
叩門數量減少不代表機會減少
儘管叩門位數量減少，但相信在學生流失（移民）的情況下，仍會有一定數量的候補位，即被派到的學生放棄入讀而騰出的席位，供其他學生競爭，預計競爭程度與往年相近。同時，即使學生未曾報讀該中學，若透過面試表現及誠意搭救等，仍有機會獲取錄。提醒傳統英中學校非常重視學術成績，通常會設有筆試來甄選學生。為了避免浪費是次機會，需要進行筆試的同學需要在中英數各分卷努力加強！
叩門前準備功夫要做好
如果等到派位，發現所派學校並不合意，當天才開始做叩門的功夫，心情會非常緊張，往往會感到很徬徨，也容易處處碰壁。所以仍想在統一派位放榜後叩門的家長和同學，務必要在放榜日前，預備好叩門三寶。叩門三寶，首先是學生個人身份證明，如身分證、學生手冊或學生證等；其次是學生過去三年的成績單及課外活動等相關紀錄，還有備妥文具和學生個人照片，以準備需要即時填寫所需。提醒家長需要準備多份第一和第二項文件。此外，家長要留意心儀學校的表格派發時間和申請事項。事先規劃好區內要叩門的學校數量和路線圖。
親筆撰寫自薦信更顯誠意
校長常會對缺乏誠意的學生有所憂慮，所以請勿向校長遞交千篇一律的「罐頭信」，而是親筆撰寫自薦信，以表達真誠之意。昨天和學生寫了一封叩門信，可以供大家參考：
Dear xxxxx, I hope this letter finds you in excellent spirits. I am thrilled to share with you my recent achievements and experiences. In the recent Maths examination, I secured second place in my class with an impressive score of xx marks. This outstanding performance left me jubilant and astonished. I am delighted to recount my participation in the esteemed Sixing Debate competition, which was jointly hosted by Heep Yunn School and Bishop Hall Jubilee School. To my utmost delight, our team emerged as the champions, leaving us pleasantly astounded by our achievement. As a token of this momentous victory, I have included a replica of the prize within this envelope. The competition was a truly enthralling affair, and it greatly enriched my repertoire of debating skills. With great humility, I write to you, xxxx, to earnestly request your kind consideration of my application to xxxxxx. If granted the admission, I assure you that I will dedicate myself wholeheartedly to striving for excellence in both academic pursuits and extracurricular activities.
