一、Verb Phrase動詞短語型

在英語辭彙中有大量動詞短語，大多由常用動詞與副詞或介詞搭配而成，並具有獨特意義。因此，要學好英語必須學會使用這類動詞短語。測試動詞短語的題目主要是測試同一動詞所構成的不同動詞短語的詞義辨析。

例： Tom hadn’t got over his cold so he had to _____his appointment with the company president.

1. A) put in                       B)     put forward
2. C) put off                     D)    put up with

分析：put in (提交，插入)，put forward (提出)，put off (推遲)，put up with (忍受)，唯有C: put off符合題意，爲正確答案。

二、Collocation「固定搭配」型

固定搭配也稱固定短語，通常由兩個或以上的詞組成，不能任意拆開，其意義常不是單詞意義的簡單組合，而具有新意義。記憶時應把整個固定搭配作爲一個整體來記。

例： ______we heard a shot and the soldier fell to the ground.

1. A) All at once               B)     At the same time
2. C) At once                    D)    Once for all

分析：    A) All at once表示“突    然，同時”；B) At the same time爲“同時”；C) At once是“馬上”的意思；D) Once for all意爲“徹底地”，“永遠地”。根據題意，A) All at once爲正確答案。
